20 MANTRAS FOR 2025
Don’t rush grief
This shit’s exhausting and I can unplug and rest, without guilt or shame
Sometimes I can’t or won’t want to resist and fight back–and that’s okay
Honor the people I might lose or those I’ve already lost
Bury your feet firmly on the ground and reconnect with the essence of why you do what you do
We must continue organizing and building worker, member and people power
We must have our ear to the ground and be moved by what moves our people
I don’t need to have hope to have determination
Embrace and fulfill the artist in you
It comes down to our vision versus theirs, our dreams versus theirs
Our lineage is resilient and radical
Be safety and refuge for others
We’ve always been sci-fi world-builders; we are each other’s political home
It is a strength to land softly, tenderly, lovingly and vulnerably
There’s beauty in the small and the slow
The change we make in society will only go as far as how we treat others in the here and now, especially how we treat the people we may have power over
We are a movement, *not* an election
We still have the power of breath and we must inhale and exhale deeply & intentionally
No elected official or political party has ever or will ever save us, “only the people save the people”
This is a class war… and there’s more of us
